Gentlemen’s Kitchen-Lake Union

The owners of a dated, flat-roofed rambler on Mercer Island near Seattle had to do a serious assessment as to whether it would be better to remodel their existing home or move. In the end, the location, as well as a good foundation and footprint allowed the remodel project to go forward. To say that this home had a dramatic change is quite an understatement.

This kitchen remodel in a house near Lake Union in Seattle was designed to the smallest detail. Not only did the owner want everything to have its own place, but he also had some unique requirements which required creative solutions. Trying to accommodate this within a compact existing space was a challenge, but the result is quite classy.

His valued espresso machine and beer dispenser have a dedicated nook complete with a pull-out countertop which allows for easy refilling and maintenance. The microwave oven was mounted into the side of the cabinet instead of the front in order to hide it visually from the adjacent hallway.
